About Us
Were you aware that there’s a gym in Pontcanna? Actually, we’ve been here for a few years now, under our original use as a personal training studio in Sophia gardens, but only recently have we moved and been able to offer a members gym in Pontcanna.
Clwb Iechyd-da aims to be a personal club, offering a comfortable environment for beginners and elite trainers alike. We offer a cardio room and a separate free weights area, classes have started and the world is our oyster, the squash courts provide additional space, so if there is a demand for any activity, we’ll do our best to put it on for you.
We hope to offer a location that is within walking distance of your home or workplace . The less excuses to get here the better eh!
Cardiff Squash & racquets club has become the new home for Iechyd Da and we and our members are thrilled to be here.
We started our story in October 2005, at Glamorgan’s Sophia Gardens Cricket ground, where we could offer Personal training in a room adjacent to the cricket nets. Francis and Elen Dupuy were 2 of our earliest clients and the word spread over a glass or two at the luxurious le Gallois restaurant our demand grew and before we knew it Mered had the company of Jo Cameron, Leigh and Jo Gurney training in the gym as well.
Our move to the squash club has enabled us to offer a membership that allows our members to use the facility as often as they like.

A wyddoch chi bod gampfa ym Mhontcanna? I ddweud y gwir ni di bod yma am sawl blynedd, yn wreiddiol yng ngerddi Sophia yn cynnig hyfforddiant ffitrwydd personol. Nawr rydym yn ychwanegol yn gallu cynnig aelodaeth ir gampfa yma ym mhontcanna.
Rydym yn deall mae yn bennaf mae pobl yr ardal yn gofyn am gampfa sydd yn gyfleus ac yn groesawgar.
Rydym yn cynnig stafell cardio a stafell ar wahan i godi pwysau, ymestyn a ddefnyddio’r peli ffitrwydd. Mae dosbarthiadau wedi dechrau ac mae’r cyrtiau sboncen sydd yma yn caniatau bod unrhyw ddosbarth yn bosib os oes galwad amdano.
Rydym yn gobeithio ein bod yn agos i’ch cartref neu lle gwaith, y lleiaf o esgusodion, y mwyaf tebygol byddwch i gyrraedd eich nod.
Dechreuodd ein stori yn Hydref 2005 ble ddechreuom ni hyfforddi ffitrwydd yn bersonol mewn stiwdio drws nesaf ir rhwydi criced. Hyfforddom ni Elen a Francis Dupuy ag rydym yn deallmae dros gwidred o win yn y bwyti moethus le Gallois gwnaeth mwy a mwy glywed am iechyd da ag o fewn 18 mis nid yn unig Mered oedd yn y gampfa, ond roedd hefyd digon o alw i Jo Cameron, Leigh Stevens a Jo Gurney i ymuno ar criw.
